Smile more, it’s good for you 😃
Is there such thing as a ‘Smile Effect’? Sure. Smiling and laughing can have a positive effect on your well-being, but as you make the transition from child to adult, it’s easy to lose the habit of indulging in these simple behaviours.
Smiling can boost your immune system, lower your blood pressure, change your mood instantly and give you a natural high. And you always tend to remember those that smile regularly, as they give a natural energy and can naturally make you feel happy.
Research has shown that there are a number of health benefits contributed to smiling and laughing. In addition to improved health, these simple facial expressions and common human behaviours can have a distinctive positive affect on other factors surrounding all areas of your life. When you smile and laugh, a number of physiological changes occur in your body, mostly without you being consciously aware of it happening.
Your sense of humour is one of the most powerful tools you have to make certain that your daily mood and emotional state support good health.
“A smile costs nothing, but creates much. It enriches those who receive, without impoverishing those who give. It happens in a flash and the memory of it sometimes lasts forever.” – Dale Carnegie
Smiling helps spread joy, naturally
Out of all the benefits that smiling brings you, the most important, by far, is the ability smiling has to spread joy through a society. One spark of happiness can set of a chain reaction. First, when you smile at other people, it makes them happy, which, in turn, makes you happy. When you know that you have made someone’s day a little bit brighter, it’s natural for you to feel happy about that. Just by smiling at someone, you can create a feeling of understanding that can connect a community in a powerful way.
